CREATING GARDENS YOU AND NATURE WILL LOVE

Landscape Design

Rooted in Nature Designs will develop a garden plan to enhance your home's beauty, create spaces for solace and social gatherings, and serve up daily joys and discovery in the outdoors.  Adding a diversity of color, texture, blooms, and native plants is my special strategy for both small gardens and entire properties.

Native and Pollinator Plants

Picture

We've all heard that bees, butterflies, and birds are disappearing.  Adding native plants that attract pollinators not only helps our ecosystem, it adds tremendous beauty.  Pollinator gardens bloom three seasons and can be incorporated into any garden design.  Enjoy the delights of watching your garden come alive, and dare to try North Carolina plants beyond hollies and azaleas!

Rain Garden Design

Protecting our streams, rivers, and drinking water is essential, and storm water run-off is a problem in many yards.  Rain gardens collect water from roofs and driveways, slowing water flow and filtering pollutants naturally through the earth.  Because rain gardens are filled with native and pollinator plants, they are beautiful too!  Raleigh has a generous matching program to help defray most of the cost.  Rooted in Nature Designs designs rain gardens and can help you navigate the City's process.

Native Meadows

Reducing lawn on your property is a simple thing you can do to create habitat and enhance your garden.  Less mowing is good for you and the environment!  In the right space, planting a pollinator meadow -- small or large -- can be really beautiful and peaceful.  Rooted in Nature can help you create a meadow in the smallest of sunny spaces that combines native grasses and perennials that bloom in every season.  Meadows can also be planted on banks to prevent erosion.

Stream Bank Repair
Do  you have a stream running through your property?  Have you noticed if the banks are eroding?  Due to development many urban streams are in bad shape, with erosion hurting aquatic life.  Rooted in Nature is certified in stream bank repair and can help you ensure a healthy aquatic ecosystem by creating a beautiful stream bank garden.  Some towns provide homeowners financial assistance to fix eroding streams.  Sadly, about 70% of North Carolina streams and rivers are polluted in large part from erosion.
